10 Years of Speaking Rights!

Did you know that Speaking Rights, Equitas' youth program in Canada, is celebrating its 10 year milestone? Equitas wants to celebrate this milestone with you, and we have some fun things planned!

Speaking Rights is a human rights education program that develops the capacity of young people between ages 12 to 18 to identify issues in their communities and find positive solutions that will lead to more inclusive and rights-respecting spaces. Over the past decade, this program has built youth’s sense of belonging and participation through activities that focus on self-esteem, critical thinking, peaceful conflict resolution, and leadership. Youth work together to identify issues that are important to them (e.g. exclusion, discrimination, inequality, environment, violence, homophobia) and together initiate Community Action Projects to engage with their community.

And we have new colours to celebrate this!

We hope you like the new outfit we got for the Speaking Rights website! We decided it was time for a refresh to celebrate 10 years of incredible community change done by young people across Canada.
